The affordable intergenerational housing project is proceeding and as part of the work preparing for that goal, the south wing of Luther Court is scheduled to be demolished. All of the tenants who lived in the south wing of Luther Court have now moved out and have been re-settled into new accommodation, many of them across the street on Cedar Hill Rd at the newly constructed Woodlands. On Thursday May 1, at 1 PM, you are invited to gather at Luther Court, for a decommissioning rite and a time of thanksgiving. The south wing of Luther Court has been a home and a refuge to many over its 46 years of service, and there are so many memories and reasons to give thanks that stem from the community that has been nurtured there. Lutheran Church of the Cross, as one of Luther Court’s closest partners, has been asked to join in this celebration to commemorate the life and community that has flourished there over the past 46 years and to look forward with anticipation to what is yet to come. Please come and join in the celebration. Refreshments and fellowship will follow.
