Thank you for your containing support of church and its work in the community.

This week we include the following message on the sign in recognizing the Trans Day of Remembrance this Sunday: “Jesus loves our transgender siblings.” It is an opportunity to communicate with the neighbourhood around Church of the Cross that lifting up trans people, including those sadly who have been killed because they are trans, is part of a Christian theology of the cross. God offers love especially in times of suffering including in death. As we approach Reign of Christ Sunday in which the image of the cross comes to foreground, we are reminded about ways God is present through love and empathy in the midst of not only a marginalized group, but people who are part of the church community. Names and face of people we know and care for. In a world that dehumanizes people for being other, as a church we have the opportunity to point to a different way as followers of Jesus.
Envisioning Our Future

You are invited and needed to participate in Vision 2023-2025 on Saturday, November 26 from 9:00 to 12:00 noon at the church.

Set that date.  Pray for the presence and guidance of the Holy Spirit.  Reflect on the report about the first vision planning session. Invite a friend or a new person to join the conversation on November 26.

More details to come!

Living our Faith: Love

Over the last four years, we have been sharing National Bishop Susan Johnson's vision for a four-year emphasis on Living our Faith - as together we pray, read, worship, and love
(www.elcic.ca/Living-Our-Faith).

As we begin the final year, we shift our focus from worship to love. As a whole church, we will learn about love, grow in our experience of loving one another and deepen our daily interactions with one another and God through Jesus’ many teachings.

Monthly encouragements will be
posted on the Living our Faith: Love website, as well as on our social media pages and through ELCIC News. This month's reflection is from Pat Lovell. A preview of her submission can be found below:
