Dear People of Church of the Cross,

Catechism “by heart” and Sunday Readings Discussion
Mondays, 7 – 8:30 PM
For the season of Lent, Monday nights offer an opportunity to take a fresh look at Luther’s Small Catechism along with the upcoming Sunday Bible Readings. We will use a resource called “by heart” that includes a short video clip and information and questions for discussion. If you are new to the Lutheran Church or interested in reviewing these basic teachings of the Church, please come join in the
discussion. If you have any questions, speak with Pastor Lyle. Everyone is welcome.
Welcoming those who are new – Sunday, March 29
Two or three times a year Church of the Cross
welcomes those who are new and others who have decided to become members of the congregation. Planning is underway for this to take place on Sunday, March 29th. This order for Affirmation of Baptism is an expression of mutual commitment to one another in Christian community together. If you are wondering, considering, interested in joining the congregation and participating in this day, please contact Pastor Lyle, Pastor Lyndon or the Church office. All are welcome!
A pastoral letter concerning coronavirus (COVID-19)
and communities of the ELCIC

In a pastoral letter to the church released today, ELCIC National and Synod Bishops invite prayers for all who are affected by the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), particularly for the people of China and other nations where the disease is spreading rapidly, and offer recommendations, based on best practices of health authorities, for worship and community life.
For the complete letter please go to:

The letter is also posted on the Bulletin Board near the Upper Hall.
Truth & Reconciliation presents

Please consider becoming a Luther Court Assistant
One of the long-time ministries of the
congregation is sharing Sunday morning worship with those who live at Luther Court. Worship books are assembled by office staff each week and taken to the Luther Court Library so that they are there Sunday morning. Then through the audio/video feed, residents are able to share in Sunday morning worship assisted by the caring ministry of people of the congregation that serve as Luther Court Assistants with them in the Library.

We are in need of 4 persons (or 2 teams) to be a part of this ministry. This would mean that you would be part of a 2 month rotation that requires being at Luther Court once every 2 months. Dates will be sent out ahead of time and orientation is available.

Please consider this opportunity for ministry and speak to Jeanie Stann, any  member of the Worship Board, or contact the church office if you are interested - 250-477-6222
