At the crossroads of Pentecost...
we celebrate God’s Holy Spirit! The Spirit of the risen Christ, the Spirit that fills Jesus’ followers with fire and lifegiving words in every language, and the same Holy Spirit that fills the young people we affirm/confirm today with all their gifts, and diverse people of every culture, ethnicity, ability, identity and circumstance; God’s Holy Spirit of love and new life for all. Welcome this Day of Pentecost! Welcome all!
Sunday Worship
with Holy Communion at 10:00 am
All are welcome!

Summer Tradition
It has become the tradition that, during the summer period, lemonade/ice tea and cookies are set up in the foyer after church in place of the full coffee that we experience the rest of the year. This year, that change will occur on June 16th. Happy summer!

COUNTERS NEEDED FOR SUNDAY WORSHIP
We continue to need volunteers to help count the offering on Sundays. This usually takes less than one hour following Sunday service. Presently counting teams are asked to count once every 7-8 weeks, the more volunteers we have the less often the rotation comes around.
If you are interested in volunteering starting this summer please contact the Financial Secretary Barry Walker: 250-381-1698 or 250-818-7931, bhwalker@shaw.ca, church mailbox #92, or leave a message in the church office for Barry.

Calling All Collectors
Remember how much fun it was as a child to play dress-up? Or, later to watch your children or grandchildren playing dress-up? And, how much fun it was collecting and creating that ‘dress up stash’ for them? How you enjoyed putting aside special pieces of jewelry or even went shopping to purchase older things like jewelry, scarfs, and other accessories?
Well, perhaps like Mr. Dress-Up from the old TV series you still have a wonderful Tickle Trunk in your house. And it is full of treasures you’ve never quite gotten around to emptying it, because of those warm memories. Well, here’s your chance.
The Social Justice Committee invites you to raid your Tickle Trunk, jewelry box, and closets for our upcoming Trunk Sale, Nov. 2, 2019. It is a fund raiser to support our refugee work and more details will follow, and a Save That Date reminder.
We are asking for good vintage jewelry, fun costume pieces in great shape but no longer used. We are also asking for good ties, scarves and other accessories such as slightly loved hand bags or shoulder bags. Little hats, an old boa, and other fancies are all welcomed.
Its never too soon to start… so have fun looking through your old items. Bring your donations to church where there will be a marked storage box in the back of the narthex. Your generous support is an ongoing source of encouragement for the work we do as a congregation.
Questions? Contact: Susan Beiderwieden susandb@telus.net or 250.999.2547
Happy sorting!
