On behalf of Anawim House, the Social Justice Committee thanks you for your generous donations of much needed hygiene items and sweet snacks for the Anawim family.  Our gifts go a long way in helping Terry and the Anawim staff in their care and support for those needing aid.

You can learn more about their work and read testimonials to the ways Anawim has reached out to others on their website:
www.anawimhouse.com

With apologies to Terry Edison-Brown for misspelling his name in last week’s Crossroads.
Coats & Blankets for Our Place

As is our custom, we will be collecting coats and blankets for the good folk at Our Place on Palm Sunday – April 2. You are invited to bring new or gently used coats, warm clothing items, blankets and sleeping bags to worship, and lay them at the Table before service, where they will be blessed and taken to Our Place for distribution to those most needing something warm and cozy during these chilly spring nights.

On behalf of the Our Place family and the Social Justice Committee, thank you!
Giving Thanks for Artist in Residence José Enrico Tuazon, Sunday, April 2, 10 AM PT with a reception following worship

José Enrico who has served as Artist in Residence – Cellist, at Church of the Cross for the past two years, will be leaving Victoria after Easter. He will be travelling to Japan with his partner to pursue new opportunities. We are sad to say farewell to José Enrico, but so very grateful for the gifts of his music and presence in worship and this community. Because José Enrico’s last Sunday will be Easter Sunday, we are planning a reception this Sunday, April 2, following worship, in the Upper Hall, to express our thanks to him. We will also offer blessings of Farewell and Godspeed at the end of worship on Easter Sunday.

LWF Publishes Thirteenth Assembly Study Guide

Photo courtesy of the LWF website (Photo: LWF/Johanan Celine Valeriano)

The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) has published a Study Guide for its Thirteenth Assembly. This resource equips participants at the organization's highest decision-making body with material to explore the meaning of the assembly theme, "One Body, One Spirit, One Hope," for the member churches and LWF's work around the world. The Study Guide is meant to inspire reflection on how the global communion of churches is called and equipped to be a sign of hope in the midst of God's creation, as it proclaims the gospel and participates in God's holistic mission. It can be download when you click here.

Covid-19 and Worship

- We offer worship in both live (in-person) and livestream (online) formats.
- We rejoice in the gift of vaccination and encourage everyone to be / stay vaccinated & boosted if you are eligible.

-
We support those who choose to wear a mask and those who choose not to wear a mask.  For our church at this time, wearing a mask is optional and a matter of personal choice in all our activities, including worship, fellowship time, meetings and office hours.  This personal choice includes all those involved in leading our services, including presiding ministers, worship assistants, musicians, choir members and ushers.  Please see a member of the Council if you have any questions or thoughts on the matter.
- If you test positive, or have symptoms for Covid-19, please stay home (and worship via live-stream)!
