Provincial and Regional restrictions have been updated as of April 8, 2022.
Here is the public health restrictions page.
At Church of the Cross masks are recommended but not required. Choir members have been asked to wear masks and those singing are encouraged to as well.
In-Person Worship, Sunday, August 21, 10 AM PDT
Church Council continues to work to see that in-person worship is safer for everyone. We will adjust our plans as health orders change.
Being vaccinated against COVID-19 is the best protection for the health of yourself and others. We strongly encourage everyone who is eligible to be fully vaccinated.
We will continue to livestream worship each Sunday.
August 21, 11th Sunday after Pentecost
Everyone planning to come to worship are asked to follow these requirements:
- If you are not feeling well and experiencing any Covid-19 related symptoms or if you are not vaccinated, please stay home and participate in worship online.
- You are encouraged but not required to wear a mask when entering the building and throughout worship.
- Observe social distancing.
- Sanitize or wash hands as needed.
- You are welcome to sing and you are encouraged to wear a mask.
- We will greet one another and share the peace at a distance.
- Holy Communion will be served with bread and individual glasses of wine that are spaced in the trays. You may commune with bread or wine alone if you wish.
- It is not required that people register for worship ahead of time or sign in as you arrive.
We will continue to make adjustments as needed and keep you informed of any changes. Your feedback on your experience with in-person worship is valued. Please let any member of Church Council, Pastors, or the church office know of any questions, concerns or ideas for making in-person worship and Sunday School safer and meaningful for everyone.

A call from the BC Synod Climate Justice Action Group (CJAG)
CJAG invites all congregations to celebrate the global and ecumenical initiative “Season of Creation” this September. The theme “Listen to the Voice of Creation” is an invitation to remember God’s call and to pay attention to those being silenced in the public discourse on climate change and on the ethics of Earth conservation, such as:
- the voices of those drawing attention to the ethics of earth-keeping;
- the voices of those who suffer the most impacts from climate change;
- the voices of those who possess ancestral wisdom about living with gratitude within the limits of Earth; and
- the voices of those pointing out plants and animals who are drastically declining in numbers and in diversity.
It will run from Sept. 1-Oct. 4. Please look up the upcoming Lutheran 2022 Celebration Guide at seasonofcreation.org and “Where Two or Three are Gathered” ELCIC resources for ideas and resources you can use with your congregation or groups of friends. Let us listen and raise our voices in prayer this Fall and take action on behalf of this world that God loves. Let us listen to the voice of the Earth.

Thursdays in Black Ambassadors: "We Cannot Be Silent" About Gender-Based Violence in Faith Communities

In a joint message on gender-based violence, sexual abuse and faith communities, 26 World Council of Churches (WCC) Thursdays in Black ambassadors including ELCIC National Bishop Susan C. Johnson, lament that the scourge of sexual and gender-based violence continues unabated - and call on faith communities to prevent such violence in their own spaces.
